A little bit about Miniature-Bonsai.com...
Miniature-Bonsai.com was started because we had a very difficult time finding appropriate pots, plant material, tools, books, and so forth for miniature bonsai within the US. Dave has been instructed and inspired by many miniature bonsai artists from around the world. Dave teaches regularly at Hollow Creek Bonsai and conducts workshops and seminars. Dave is also a co-founding board member of the American Shohin-Bonsai Association.
One of the guarantees we make to you is that if we offer a product, it is one we've used on our own trees and will continue to use. We will never sell a product or tree that we would not have as our own. Many of the products you won't find elsewhere, and in the case of plant material, each tree is individually tagged and cared for. The tree you see in the image is the tree you will receive. When you place your order, that tree is removed from the site's inventory and is no longer available to anyone, at any price. Since we do take the time and care to ensure you're getting exactly what you ordered, this is reflected in the sometimes higher price you'll find here. Photographing trees, containers, etc.,; measuring each tree and container is labor-intensive but the end result is a far better experience for you and the enjoyment you receive from working with your trees.
We care for our pre-bonsai material in the same way we care for our trained bonsai. This means bud thinning, needle pinching, foliage thinning/trimming, and so forth. We do this for a very simple reason - it's what we would want to receive ourselves! If you're looking for inexpensive, mass-produced plants, miniature-bonsai.com is probably not the right source for you. However, if you desire well cared for, properly maintainted, and appropriate stock for miniature bonsai, then you've found a perfect home. Our clientele include some of the most well known names in miniature bonsai, various presidents of large bonsai organizations, and even other bonsai vendors. We strive for excellence in quality, not mass quantity or mass-market quality.
