Our trees are raised in USDA Zone 6a. The get reasonable protection in the winter,
but they're not coddled. We'd rather lose a few trees and end up with stock which
can tolerate less-than-perfect conditions in order to offer you bonsai, pre-bonsai,
and plant material that isn't tempermental or touchy. Fall is an amazing season here. So many colors and scents to enjoy! It's too cool now to safely ship tropicals, although semi-tropicals do just fine. We pack our trees with tremendous care, but occasionally do lose the odd piece of fruit from crabapples, pyracantha, etc. As you go through the trees, please notice the date the photos were taken. This should give you a good sense of the changes you can expect. If a tree is wired, new photos will be taken and the site updated. The only difference you can expect is in growth, not in the shape. A final note: Bonsai and pre-bonsai are exceptionally personal purchases. The shape of one tree may move one person but not another. For this reason, we don't recommend bonsai or pre-bonsai as a gift. If you're looking for a gift, please consider books, DVDs, containers or gift certificates.
